Worrying about a child’s education has become the new normal for every parent. And there are very few secondary examinations which focus on the all-round development of the child. One of them is Edexcel International Secondary examination. It focuses on the all-round development of the child. It is a great platform for students to learn international level syllabus in the local context giving students a wider perspective of the subjects they study. It is only available for UK based schools as they follow the UK National Curriculum GCSE. These examinations are focused on providing practice skills. They also help in developing soft transferable skills which are valued by employers all over the world.
Assessment and grading
Assessments are necessary to bring out the results of the process. Assessment in edexcel igcse takes place after the completion of a 2-year course. It may be in the form of a written examination, oral, coursework and practical assessment. These authorities have introduced a new grading system of 9 points (9-1), which is accepted all around the world.
It is done to improve the grading system as this system will improve differentiation when compare to an eight-point (A-G).
The exams are held in January and May. The results are declared in March for the exams held in January, and in August for the exams held in May.

Options after clearing Edexcel International GCSE
Clearing this exam will provide the students with various required skills that will be beneficial in their professional careers. There are a lot of synergies between this examination and the Advanced level international GCSE. It is also a great option if one wants to pursue an IB diploma programme in the future.
Retaking of examinations
You can retake any of the international GCSE by sitting in all the exams in the particular subject. It is a bit different in coursework, here you have to consult with your teachers and they will tell you when you can retake the exam.
