The open-air porch design with a partial fence structure allows people to enjoy the outdoors without actually having to step outside the premise of their h0uses. A verandah is quite useful during the summers and spring. But, since winter is almost knocking at the door, many people have abandoned their verandahs and retired back inside the house which is way warmer and more comfortable. This way your verandah will look lovely and greener amidst the harsh picture of the winter season.
Hang star lights and wooden lanterns from the roof in the verandah
Since winter means Christmas, Thanksgiving, and other celebrations, lights are very important. You will most certainly decorate the interiors with various kinds of lights, starting with LED strips to star lights, multicolored bulbs, and so on. This year, however, you can save some lights from the interiors and use them to brighten up the dull looking verandah surrounding the entrance of the house. You can even hang wooden lanterns that will resemble the old country-style decor.
Outdoor curtains can be a great insulator for the verandah
Nowadays since spending time outdoors is becoming a habit, the demand for outdoor blankets, pillows, and even curtains is increasing. So, if you have an open-air verandah surrounding the entrance and arches of the main house, you can buy those curtains and use them to cover up the opening. It’s better to choose dark-colored, thick curtains since that will help in better absorption of sunlight and will also prevent the wind from entering the verandah.
Glass walled verandah will give you both comfort and transparent vision
You can even install a glass verandas wall around the house to protect the outdoor porch from the harshness of the winter season. Double layered glasses are a good insulator and hence, they will be able to prevent the heat from escaping into the outer environment from the insides.
